I am new to this Forum. My grandson came home on July 11, 2006. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on March 1, 2006. His name is Morrison and he a blessing and joy to our lives. He is the best baby I have ever been around, and so beautiful, or should I say handsome. My daughter and son-in-law also have a bio daughter, Madison, who is 6 yrs old. She loves Morrison so much. No jealously so far but I'm sure that will change

Welcome! Glad to have more family members on here! I've always thought research and community discussions really ought to be a requirement for the extended family as well as the parents.
It makes me smile to see grandparents that are so happily involved in the whole adoption process. Hope you enjoy it! Lark

TCK"s or Third Culture Kids are difined as "[A] person who has spent a significant part of his or her developmental years outside the parents' culture. The third culture kid builds relationships to all of the cultures, while not having full ownership in any. Although elements from each culture are assimilated into the third culture kid's life experience, the sense of belonging is in relationship to others of the same background." How being a TCK relates to my desire to adopt some day: I grew up an international child, and while the walls between country and race mean less to me than most, I grew up with an understanding of the influence of clashing cultures that is hard to explain to someone who exists in solely one culture. God has given me the gift of experiences to fuel my desire for international adoption and to understand an internationally adopted child's world. |

Welcome to the boards! So nice to see extended family here. I think it's great that as a grandparent you are so involved and excited about the adoption process. My parents are the same way and I feel so blessed.

Welcome Tess. My mother's name is Tess so your post caught my attention right away. I write the Korea Adoption blog for this site - so if you have any suggestions let me know.
