I'm soooo confused / in shock....
Ok, so CJ turns 2 next week, she's been home for 15 mos now, & ever since she came home, I've said that I am perfectly content / happy with having an only child. She is the light of my life & I'm not willing to share myself with another child. Today, a client who we (DH & I) have know the family for years comes in & ask the "are you going to adopt again" question. I go through the above spiel, to which she replies, "my 17 year old daughter dropped a bomb on us a few weeks ago, & we keep comming back to you & Mike, if you wanted a second baby." Me: "is she deffinately going to place the baby for adoption?" Her: "There is no way she is able to care for a baby, & I don't have the time, $$ or ability to raise another baby now. If we place the baby, we don't want to lose contact, we want to know the baby & the family. She's also considering having an abortion." OMG!!!! Thanks for that guilt trip.
I DON'T KNOW, I DON'T KNOW, I DON'T KNOW!!!!! My life is complete with this beautiful baby girl, but is this Gods way of offering us a second child? How could I deny that? Mike & I deffinately have to have a LONG talk this weekend. I want to direct this girl to some good help, but I don't even know where to begin. I could use some prayers to help me hear Gods words in all all of this. I'll keep y'all up to date. Thanks for letting me get this out! Millie

Millie,
Wow that's a bombshell to be dropped on you. How far along is this 17 year old girl? How likely is it that she won't find a way to keep the child? The other questions that comes to mind are in respect to the birthfamily: How involved are they thinking to get with this child's life? What's your and dh's comfort level? Whatever you and Mike decide, know that we support you and I'm praying for you. All this being said, God may have bigger plans for you than what you had for yourself. Jen

My mom likes to say "if you ever want to hear someone have a good laugh, tell God your plans". She always says it when I least want to hear it, and she's always right.
I think a window has opened in your lives where a door once closed. I have some more suggestions/ideas for you, but I'll call you with those. I'll be praying for all of you. -Sara

Well, God does answer our prayers, just not always as we expect Him to. At the girls ob appointment today, it was determined that she hasn't eaten in at least 2 weeks. Her 23 year old "boyfriend" tells her how fat she is, so she doesn't eat, & if she does, he guilts her into throwing up. She is severly malnurished, (baggy clothes can hide a lot) anemic, & just not well. Her dr feels that there is no way she can safely carry this baby to term. They have given her the weekend, then she will be admitted to the hospital for at least a week, while they induce her & then try to stableize her. Her mother & I talked for quite a while today, & I am OK with all of this. I feel horrible for the girl & her family, but this girl really needs to be healthy & get her life together before she can grow a baby. So the decision was made for us, & we remain a family of 3. If anyone feels so moved, this girl & her family could use all the prayers we can send them. I'm gonna go put some hug marks on my baby girl! Thanks for all your support & encouragement!

WOW--what an emotional few days you and dh have had! It sounds like her family really admires you for approaching you with something so meaniful. I'm glad you were there to support them, but you also must think of yourself and your family. We are all here to support you--and I'm looking forward to our get-together later this month. HUGS!!!
