Hi Everyone,
I had just joined this board right before all the changes in Korea. I had decided on an agency out of Michigan that was giving fast referrals and that would let me request a girl. I did send in a preapplication and have to wait 3 months before getting the big application. I'm really not sure what to do. I don't know if I should go with this agency or go with another agency near my state where I can request waiting children. I really want to request a girl since I have two boys. The agency near me is small so I am thinking it would take forever to be matched with a girl waiting child. I know the referral and travel times were slow before the changes happened. There are so many unknowns. Thank you for your help. Kate

Hi Kate,

DH & I are in the same boat as you. We already have a son, so we really want a girl. We are just going to sit tight until that agency starts accepting applications again. You can start working on your home study now (if you haven't already done so).

I'm also from NY. As you can tell from my sig we got our children before this happened. We went with a small local agency and it has worked out for us but I understand your concerns about having the two boys already and wanting that girl.

I would weigh pros and cons and maybe even contact that agency or other agencies that do Korean adoptions to see what they say.
