?? How strict are they...
Hi!! I'm currently in the process of gettng ready to adopt from Guatemala but I have a friend that is feeling led to adopt from Korea. She however (like many Americans ) is over the BMI that is supposed to be a requirement. Just how strict are they about this? I think that they meet all the requirements but this.
Thanks for your time. Melody |

She should check with the agency she is working with. One agency told us that you had to absolutely be in the range to quailify. One said if you were close and had a letter from your doctor about your heath there might be a bit of flexibility. There is an agency that does not have a weight requirement so long as your doctor says you are in good health. Depending on what state she is in also makes a difference. Only certain agencies can place children in certain states.

It also depends on the agency. We are about to finalize our second adoption. Our agency DOES NOT require adoptive parents to be a certain weight. PM me for information on this particular agency.
