Yippee...we got the call!!!!
Hi All,
I am so excited to be starting a thread with that subject!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!  I came home from work and there was a message from our agency that Sam will be escorted home July 7th. I could not believe it!!! DH got a call at work and actually spoke to the agency and he was speechless! We are on cloud nine. My head has actually been spinning for the last few hours. So much to still do and I'm actually surprised how much notice we got because we actually have time to get it done.  If anyone has words of wisdom or advice on anything to bring, please let me know.

Congratulations!!! We just picked up our DD 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure if these are words of wisdom, but... Bring your stroller to the airport - you won't put your baby in it, but it is handy to carry all your stuff with you. Not sure if others are going with you - regardless, bring more than one camera. I just got an email today saying another family at the airport with us lost their precious pix - yikes! Bring your video camera. We forgot ours and had to borrow one at the last minute. Get lots and lots of sleep before the arrival. We're still not sleeping much. Make your peds appt now for a couple of days after arrival (or whatever your agency recommends). Make meals ahead of time and pop them in your freezer. Read up on attachment tips on http://www.a4everfamily.org/. Most of all, enjoy every single moment!

CONGRATS!!! You predicted you'd be next! Since we traveled (and quickly) my advice isn't really accurate but I'd say have others come with you to the airport to document. We didn't really have good documentation of our arrival and I would have loved to have that.

We brought my sister to the airport with us. I thought she would keep me from crying, man was I wrong! Bring tissues, cameras, gum & water, (airport prices are WAY too high) & the stroller to carry everything is a good idea. We got to JFK early & I was glad I always keep my book in my bag, I needed something else to focus on during the wait. My SIL kept texting me on the planes progress, "descending rapidly" was not my favorite message to get! At home, freeze lots of meals!! & get take out numbers handy, believe me, you will not want to be doing any cooking (or anyother house work) so get it all done now. Have various brand & size diapers, formulas, foods & bottles on hand, you don't want to run out for anything you don't have to. Oh, and go out to dinner by yourselves, make an icecream run at 9:00 at night, (or any other spontanious act) & sleep while you can!
I was doing all of this last minutes stuff, a year ago today  . It has been the craziest, happiest, most wonderful year! Get ready for a whole new way of life!!

I have 2 boys from Korea and have frequented this board for a while. It's really great to see everyone work through the process I remember some of hopeful2adopt' first questions and now it's arrival time!!! This will be the most incredible day of your life!
