Referral Question
My DH and I are just getting started. I have a question regarding referrals. Does anyone know what happens if you accept a referral then the child has some health issues emerge while living with the foster family? For instance, what if your referral does not show proper growth or shows signs of FAS?
Thanks nicki |

My guess would be that any abnormalities that would show up during the well child visits, would be passed on to you, at which time you would be able to take the info to your pediatrition or specialist for further review. If the issue became too severe for your acceptance, I think you could then decline the referral, but I'm not really sure on that point.

With my agency (and I suspect others as well), you can later decline a referral and wait for another one if there are health concerns. My agency does not give you a refund though, if you then choose to withdraw from the program completely.
