New and waiting for the travel call
Hi all..thought I would stop and introduce myself. My name is Heather..DH and I are in the process of adopting a beautiful little boy from Korea. We received our referral March 1st...and just received our 171H the end of April...so we are offically waiting for "the call"...we aren't traveling to Korea..they have an escort that will be bringing him to the US.....we are using FAC..which goes through KSS. Would love to hear how long others waited for "the call". This is killing me right now. I had a really hard time today being that it's Mother's Day. Spent a good portion of it crying and looking at all his pictures. Just want our little guy home.

Oh, Heather, I'm SOOOO there with you. We're with SWS so they work a little differently than KSS. We were told travel call is approximately a month after I600 approval.
It's been a week since we've had our I600 and I'm READY.

I hope that you get the call SOON!!! And I hope that we also get that call soon as this is the hardest part. WE received our I600 approval the end of April..so I am hoping that it won't be horribly longer....

Welcome aboard! I hope both of your babies come home soon! We were about 4 mos from referral acceptance to Korea to travel. As for your DH, most of them just don't "get it". Mine didn't even "get it" this year
 . It's amazing how they can be so smart & so dense, at the same time

What agency did you go through if I may ask? I am soo hoping that since we received our referral March 1st..and our 171H the end of April..that it will only be a couple more months at the most....my husband is CONVINCED that it will be the end of this month..I love that he is positive..but dont' want him to get his hopes up so high that they get shot down if it doesn't happen.

We used a small, local agency in up state NY, that works with Eastern. Our original estimate was 16 weeks from referral acceptance to travel, somewhere in the middle, we were told it could go up to 6 mos, & I think it was 17 weeks.

Heather - we're with a different agency with SWS in Korea so timeframes go differently...all our waiting is done on the front end - we don't submit to Korea until after the I-600A is received.
