Does working towards THIS adoption make you think about ANOTHER one?
This is almost embarassing to admit, since we haven't even started our homestudy for THIS adoption, but I keep thinking about a second adoption once our Korean baby's adoption is finalized. My husband rolls his eyes but hasn't said 'no' yet *lol*
Has anyone else noticed that this process tends to snowball????

I thought about it the whole time! Now that she's home, I'm just not ready to share myself. If I'm supposed to adopt again, I trust that God will make it clear to me. Maybe in a few years?

I've been that way, too. DH and I decided back in Oct/Nov that the time was right, and we had such an instant rapport with our SW I immediately thought, "I want her to be our SW for all the kids we adopt." So, if all continues to go well in future years, we'll have a gaggle of kids!

I have felt that way since we started adopting from Guatemala. I still looked at the photo listings sometimes!
It turned out that we had another child waiting for us - a little girl from Liberia - which is why I think I was so pulled towards another child. Interesting how God works, isn't it?

We've said since the beginning that we want to go back immediately for our lilttle girl. We'll see what happens when Alex gets home. I feel like I'm so old already at 35..I want to have my family complete. I started my journey so long ago; I should already have a 5 year old.

I hear ya there! I'm also 35. I have friends who have kids who are 6-18 mos older than Micaela, but that is their *youngest* child. Ah, well. Growing families at a slightly older age is not so bad. I think I will have a lot more to give my daughter now than I would have 7 years ago when I first was married.

I laos started thinking about right away. I think once we have all this adoption stuff under way we may try to conceive and also try to pursue an adoption of a baby. The only thing is because we are dealing with a public adoption we have to wait 18 months before adopting again. Now that is longer than I am hoping for but I heard in certain cases they will wave this.

I'm 33, with a 7 year old and a 2 year old. By the time our Korean baby comes home, I'll be almost 35. I'll tell you that I am much more patient and relaxed with my 2 year old than I was with her older sister at the same age. We've gone through more of life and have learned to take every day one at a time - it definitely makes us better parents.

I think it's probably pretty common.
![]() I am one of the few that turned a little green at the thought of a second and I'm just now at the point where I don't hyperventilate at the thought. Of course, we have been seriously thinking about a second one lately...but I took my friend's little girl on a trip with us this weekend and I'm having second thoughts about my readiness again. Mo

I can say (with some certainty--I think) that once we bring home our daughter our family will be complete. Of course, I thought that during the adoption process with our son last year too... But seriously, three is a good number and we can't afford any more!Carolyn

Wow I feel positively ancient! - I am 41 and DH is 39. According to Korea we would have about 2.5 years once we bring the first little one home and our documents havent even gotten there yet. For me one is fine, but I wonder if it would be harder on him to be an only - or if he would fare better with a little sister or brother.

We haven't even gotten our homestudy completed and I'm already wondering what our next adoption will go like. I'd like to have at least 2 and probably 3 children, so we will have to go through this process a couple *more* times if that holds true. I'll see how I feel after our first baby is home and reevaluate then, I guess.
