Question about Girl Referrals and SWS...

Just curious...we are with an agency that uses SWS. We have been waiting as #2 (we were told # does not necessarily matter) for a couple months now. (I know that is short compared to some others).

I am just curious, NOT about your agency's wait times for girls (that varies too much based off of how many are on the list)...but HOW OFTEN DOES YOUR AGENCY GET GIRL REFERRALS FROM SWS? And if you know, how many usually come in at a time? I ask because we were told a one month wait when started....a two month wait once we hit the one month mark and now that we are at the two month mark it is said to be three months or more. This uncertainty is killing me. And not getting any real concrete answers is hard too.

I know with domestic adoption being up, things are slower with the girl referrals (and please no flames that we are requesting a girl). I figure most agencies probably get about the same number of girl referrals every month or so, so it might help me relax if I had a better guesstimate of our wait.

I know that since we are 2nd on the list it should not be too much longer but I am starting to wonder. If anyone knows about this, especially those who use SWS I would GREATLY APPRECIATE any info. http://www.holtintl.org/forums/image...icon_smile.gif Thanks, Mandy

My friend was just referred a baby girl from SWS. Her paperwork went over to Korea on about 3/8.

Hi Mandy-

We are in the homestudy process with Barker as well and i have been following your wait time. We are also going to request a girl and have been a bit dissappointed that the wait time is quickly lengthening. (Although, I know it is good news that the children are being adopted within Korea ) Did they tell you three months now???? Last I heard it was 2 months but I guess that is not the case with you..You can pm me if easier.

Sandy

Our dd came home in Feb 2006 using SWS. We received her referral on 12/6/05. Our agency is small but I do know there was another girl on that same day. It is cool because the girls were born on the same day. Our home study went to Korea in late Oct.

Best of Luck,

Julie

That is great that she is home already. That was really fast. Well we are waiting as patiently as we can. I am just so excited to ever hear something. The fact that there were two referrals in one day makes me optamistic. Thanks for posting. Mandy
