Confused re: referal time

Hello,

I am new here and I am pretty confused and I am hoping someone can clairfy. My homestudy went to Korea on 4/26 and my SW said to expecta a referal in 4-9 mos. We are using Wide Horizons. I noticed that there are people that have referred to SWS in Korea. What is SWS and does this take the place of Holt INternational therefore that is why the referral time is shorter?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

Yes...

There are 4 agencies in Korea - SWS, Eastern, KSS and Holt. Each has different time frames for referral and travel due to availablilty of children with each agency. SWS is quick with boys right now (ours was 2 weeks) but slower with girls (3 months). KSS refers quick but I've noticed takes about 6 months to travel. Eastern & SWS run about 3 months to travel (we're going a little faster so far and are hoping to stay that way) and Holt is usually 2 months. So they work out to be almost the same.

Good luck!

Our SWS referral took eleven months for a girl...which was an average wait time at the end of 2005. My best bud just travel to Korea SIX WEEKS after referral acceptance for her baby girl through SWS (which her referral took 14 months to get). SWS is lightning fast right now. I think six weeks is quite fast, I would count on 8 weeks to travel through SWS.

SWS may be quick with referrals for some U.S. agencies and not with others. Trust the time frame your agency gives you.
