Question about sharing a bedroom with the baby

Hi-

We've just begun seriously considering submitting our application, and I have a question about the layout of our home. We're about to move into a 2 bedroom apartment for 15 months so that my husband can complete a 15 month training program--we need to live within a block of the hospital where he'll be training.

Our plan is to have one bedroom as our bedroom, and the second bedroom as the "everything else" room--office, sewing, studying etc.

My thought is that the baby will have his crib in the master bedroom with us--is it required that there be a separate designated room for the baby, all his own, or are we "allowed" to have him in with us?

Thanks!!

I don't know if there are any "rules" or not, as long as you have a plan & your SW can show that you are thinking & planning for what will happen. I know our SW was aware of CJ sleeping in our room for the first 2 months, & Korea is much more accepting of the family bed than we are.

If you are concerned, you could just say, "and this is the baby's room" without mentioning that the baby will sleep with you. I imagine that the baby will eventually occupy this room when he/she is older, right?

Yes, the situation is only temporary-15 months total that we'll be in the apartment, so by the itme we have baby home it iwll probably only be about 4 or 5 months. Thanks for your replies--it sounds like we'll be able to work it out!

Every state is different, we live in Maryland and when they came for the state inspection the guy actually measured the room that would be our sons. You can easily say the "everything" room will be that but in reality the baby may be happier with you in your room. Koreans generally sllep together on the floor and my younger son was apalled that he had to sleep alone in his own room!
