Are referral waits about the same regardless of who your agency works with (SWS, Holt, Easter)? Or, do they vary with agency?

I hear that SWS is referring quickly, but what about the others?

My agency goes through Eastern. The referrals have been slow this year. Only two or three per month.

I think referrals are both Korean agency & US agency dependant. A good agency should give you an honest timeframe that they usually work with.

We started with an agency connected to Eastern, but decided not to continue with them because they experienced some internal problems that affected their efficiency. We switched to a SWS agency and could not be happier. We were presently surprised by their quicker referral times, but were most impressed with their time between referral and travel (2-3 months). Our original agency told us that the referral to travel was closer to 4-6 months with some families even longer. Not sure why there seems to be so much of a difference, but we have been happy with SWS.


I also visit the Holt bb and their waits appear to be longer than SWS---again, not really sure why.

Our agency works with both Eastern and SWS. The referral times are the same, BUT travel with SWS is much quicker.

I can't say anything about Eastern, as I don't know too much about them. I have met some people who are using Holt and it seems like referrals are coming a bit slower once they are hstk than what I have been told to expect with SWS. I don't know if I am allowed to say the name of my agency, so I won't, I'll just say that our Korean coordinator just got back from Korea, and she has said that we can expect a referral 4-6 weeks after hstk. This time frame must vary from agency to agency, I just read Abcolo's post about her SWS referral taking much longer.

Yes mine did take longer, but was quick for our agency. They are now quoting referrals at 15-18 months (through either Eastern or SWS).

We got a referral of a girl with KSS in about three weeks after our HS was completed.
