Agency recommendations by cost?
Hi Everyone!
We are on our 2nd adoption and are looking at the Korea program. We are excited about the escort program because we have two small ones at home and cannot leave home to travel so the Korea program looks GREAT for #3. We went to China for #2 and I loved the agency we went with and thought the fees were reasonable in comparison to other agencies (around $20,000). I read an article about another agency that only specialized in Chinese adoption that was able to provide the adoption for around $13,000. I was shocked. DH and I are not made of money. He is a police officer and I work part time from home so that extra money means a lot to us, so if ANYONE can provide ANY insight into fees of different agencies of the Korea program we'd FULLY appreciate the help. Thanks. Maryann ![]() |

Can you pm me the name of the China agency you are referring to? I'd sure appreciate it, we're about to sign on with an agency, but would love to save 7,000 if at all possible, money is tight for us too. Thanks!

I don't think you'll find much of a break between agencies w/Korea program unless maybe you take a high-needs special needs child. I've only seen fees vary by maybe 3K, give or take.
As for China, don't know. I'd be suspicious as to the "cheap" agency as to how legal they are doing things vs. bribing officials and if they list all the government fees in their "total cost" they advertise. Esp. since China gov't fee is set, travel will prob. be at least $5k for China then you have HS, USCIS fees, maybe readoption costs, post-placement, agency fees, etc. They could be perfectly legit, but I'd do a lot of research first. |
