newbie with ?s about Korea quotas

Hi. We are homestudy approved and waiting for a referral. We were expecting a referral this month when our agency stated that they are putting referrals on hold due to Korea not processing visas at this time. Has anyone else had this experience? Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks!

We accepted our referral last month and have heard nothing about Korea not issuing visas from our agency. I will check with ours tomorrow and let you know what they say.

We haven't heard anything, either.

This only seems to be an issue for one agency right now. As far as I know, the others are not affected.

Korea is still issuing visas, and to this agency as well. However, they are not issuing a lot of visas and this agency has a backlog of children to get home. So, they are holding referrals for a while until they get caught up. While there's no guarantee, they should start assigning referrals again as soon as they are caught up on travel.

When you say "agency" do you mean Korean agency? If so, which one? Thanks.

Well, it is one American agency and one Korean agency.

I guess I can publicly say the Korean agency, right? It's KSS - the smallest of the 4 Korean agencies.

This is the agency I used, by the way.

Thanks everyone. I guess it is just an issue for a small number of agencies. Hopefully we will get good news soon.

I should add that while this is bad news for this agency, their wait for referral over the last 2 years has literally been only DAYS for either gender. So, even a delay of a few months will still be very fast compared to other agencies.

Holly

(Our referrals came 8 days and 5 days after the homestudy report was submitted)
