What age was your baby?
Hi all! I've been lurking for a couple of months now and everyone seems so nice.
DH and I have completed all out paperwork and now we're waiting for the referral. Can I ask how old your babies were at referral and how old when they arrived? Our agency seems to have an average of 4 - 6 months between referral and arrival. I feel like I'm always bugging my SW with my questions and she doesn't want to give specific answers to avoid dissapointing us if it doesn't work that way. I'd just like to hear a cross-section of answers. Thanks!

My son was 2.5 months at referral and 5 months at homecoming. My daughter was 4 months at referral and 8 months at homecoming.
It will vary based on your agency though. Different agencies have different timelines. Holly

Our daughter was 3 months at referral and 6 months at placement.
Two years ago our son was 2 months at referral and came home the day he turned 4 months. Both adjustments have been fairly easy. Andrea

My son was 7 wks at referral and came home at 6 1/2 months we were in april for home coming so we had to wait because of the new year. The wait seems to be forever but it is worth the wait.

Our son, Jude, was born 7/23/05
He was referred to us on 10/16/05 (same day our homestudy came out of the courts!) He will be home this Friday (2/10/06)!!!!! so... 2.5 months at referral and 6.5 months at homecoming. And...just like everyone has said before, the minute you get the call, you will forget about all of it.....what a wonderful day it has been.

We live about 45 minutes from Sky Harbor (Phoenix). We are pretty lucky to have an airport so close to home. 3 hours each way would be hard.
