We got the visa!

And it was cabled to Korea on August 19th ! Now what? How long does it usually take until our little fellow comes home? I want him tomorrow or tonight (I'm flexible)! Our house is so empty without our little sheepboy (Astro) running around and we can't take it anymore. There has been hardly any travel calls this week. What's the average after the visa comes? Thanks for letting my vent. I'm off to work now (open house at school).

One more baby step! We got our vias approval in mid April & CJ came home June 30th. It was aroung 10 weeks for us, but our time frame was kind of odd. Our SW said not to go by the vias approval, but from the time the accepted refferal was sent to Korea. Earlier this spring, someone on the board got their visa approval in mid March, and their son came home in April! I hope Korea moves ast for you, you've alrady had a very emotional summer! I'm praying for ya!Millie

Hi ladies,
Thanks for the well wishes! This month has been so slow for travel (all agencies). I'm hoping someone has been on vacation and they are set to return this week! I hope all is well with everyone,
Sherry

P.S. Please take a moment to pray for those in the hurricane's path. It looks absolutely awful right now .

Is Maddox home yet?

I am just curious if he is home or have any other news. I am waiting for my visa for Noah and I am trying to look at your timeline.

HOw long did it take to get your Visa once you submitted the documents?

Congrats!

I think that travel after visa really depends not only on your agency, but many other factors, including flight availability, plus the big passport issue.

Our younger son was escorted home 2 1/2 weeks after visa approval.....yet others from our own agency wait months.

Best wishes,
Nancy

No Maddox is not home yet. We are still waiting for who knows what. It is now becoming frustrating. I just wish we had a ballpark time frame that is smaller than anytime between now and January. I really thought he would be home at this point. It took two months to get the Visa after we submitted the documents. I hope you get very good news soon!
Take care,
Sherry

Sherry,
You truly are at the hardest part of the wait! I was going crazy once we had the visa b/c I knew the phone call could come any day. We expected Harrison home in late August, but were peasantly surprised to have him at the end of July. Are you traveling or having him escorted?
-Sara

Shortly after we got the visa approval, there was word of a major slow down. Our time frame went from June or July, to possibly september. I was devistated. Are you wishing that you could just go over & live with his foster family until he gets his passport? I know I did! I don't know that I can offer any advise on how to get through the wait, 'cause I about went nuts! I hated not having a rough estimate on when she would be home. A 3 month span was just too much for me. All I know for sure, is that he will come home. Sleep now while you can .

I'm prayin' for ya!

Last summer I picked up a copy of the cable from INS on a Wednesday and my husband flew to Korea on the following Friday. We had our little guy in the US the next Wednesday, so 2 weeks from VISA approval! We pushed to get everything done quickly and paid a small fortune for the flight by it was worth every penny!
