Question Situation in North Korea

An obsessive mom here adopting from Korea. We have already gotten our referrrel of a beautiful baby girl and are waiting for I-600 approval. I have worried lately if the situation with North Korea would affect South Korean adoptions. My agency says no just want to hear what you guys have heard.

The situation with North Korea has been ongoing and tense for many years. I can't forsee how it would change. People have been travelling to South Korea for business, etc. for years without any problems.

The problem with N.Korea has been going on more than 55 years. I've been to Korea and my husband is in the military and was stationed there for 1 year. The U.S has had troops there since the Korean War and I don't know if that will ever end but I'm told that that is what has been keeping N. Korea from attaching S. Korea for the last half century.
My son just came home in March of this year and the thought of N.Korea affecting my adoption never crossed my mind. I know that your mind goes crazy when all we have is time between us and our babies. Let it be one less worry for you!

NO. You will be fine there! I know families who received their babies three or four days after 9/11, and if that didn't slow travel down, nothing will! Yes, the trouble in N. Korea has been around for decades, and I'm sure you're just thinking of what could hapen to ruin this wonderful experience, and your mind is playing tricks on you! I lived in Korea for over a year, and I can tell you that the news my family got here in the States was more dramatic than what was actually happening over there!
