Any loop hole?
Hi!
I have two friends that are adopting from Korea and two more friends that are interested in Korea. One has not been married for 3 years but has been with this man for 10 years and is getting married to him this Friday. They have 3 children together. Do you know of any agency that would take them for a Korean adoption? Please PM they are so interested in this! THanks~ Julie |

Short answer - no. It is a Korea rule, not a US agency rule. And it is one of the many rules I've seen people try to get a waiver on but none have been successful.
Since they've been together for so long, the only possible loophole I can think of is getting a commonlaw marriage declaration, but not sure of the laws out there and as of what date the 'marriage' would be considered a done deal with that. Then they'd have to fight to get the marriage certificate dates and verbiage correct, etc. Last edited by lynnor : 03-30-2005 at 06:17 PM. Reason: more |
