notice for arrival
Hi
Just wondering how much advance notice people got concerning when their baby would arrive. We've been told "sometime this month" but that is all I know. Our agency's paperwork says 3 to 21 days notice, but I was just wondering what was typical. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

What agency are you using? I think it really depends a lot on that.

I noticed you're from MI. i'm from Ohio. We used FAC and we had a 12 day notice. However, I know a lot of people get 6-7 day notice. One mom just got a 3 day maybe notice, and a day before confirmation on arrival!!!

Are you visa approved?

Thanks to both of you for sharing from your personal experience.

We do have visa approval and I believe all we are waiting on is for whatever final steps take place in Korea. We are using FAC.

I'm just really hoping our baby comes home before Thanksgiving - it is driving me nuts not knowing when he is coming when I know they tentatively have him scheduled on a flight! Guess I should just relax and wait.

I will pray that your little one comes home for Thanksgiving.
WE are still waiting for a referral or our little boy, we should hear anyday. I am going crazy now, I can not even think what it would be like when I know it will be days before he comes home!

We got the call on a Friday that our son was coming home on Wednesday. So we had 5 days notice. It was the busiest 5 days of my life!!!!

I hope your baby gets here really soon.

Notice of Arrival
We had a 10 day notice for our son and just 2 days for our daughter. Friends of our came home from the grocery store one day (when a snow storm was just starting) and got a phone call from customs in NYC to let them know their daughter had arrived from Korea several hours before and was waiting for them. With the grocery still in the bags and the other 3 children still in their coats they call a neighbor to babysit and drove the 4 hours to NYC in the snow storm to pick-up their daughter.

You will probably get a few days to a few weeks notice. Good luck and try to relax and enjoy it.

Congratulations!!! It is so nice to read happy news! My dear friend adopted her daughter from Korea almost 10 years ago. I had the pleasure of traveling to Korea for business. I enjoyed the country. Enjoy this special time with your new son! God Bless.
