Going back to Korea...
Yep I am going back home not sure if I posted it in here or not. But I have saved about $6000 to go back to Korea..and I can't wait. I'm going end of Summer so probably around August or so for 2 weeks. It's a long flight almost 24 hours but it'll be worth it. I've spoken to my mom about it and she finally understands how important it is for me to go back home and she wants to go if she had the money but I am going to go with my friend who speaks Korean fluently and he will be translating for me as well as we'll be staying with a friend of his who is buying a house out there..So I can't wait and thought I'd share the great news with everyone. I'm trying to locate my birth parents still but no luck yet. If no luck by the time I go it's alright just so see everything will be well worth the trip!

Have awonderful trip! I really wish you the best of luck finding everything you need to find. Experience everything you can and know that no metter what you were loved by your birthparents very much as well as by your adoptive parents.
You are so lucky to be going back to see your birth country as an adult. Good luck and please post your experiences when you get back.

Katie,
I'm so excited for you to go home! I'm sure you will never regret the experience. There is an agency in Korea that my friend started called GOAL - Global Overseas Adoptees Link. They do many things for adult adoptees and one of them is to help with birthfamily searches. Please keep this in mind while you're there. I wish you the very best! By the way, I'm waiting for my first child to arrive from Korea any day now! |
