We just found out our paperwork is at the min. of education. Can anyone give me an idea on how long there paperwork was there?>

Do you mean the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (first stop in Kaz?) I don't think there is a set amount of time. Our two adoptions were entirely different. One was in summer, one was in winter, so we were impacted by holidays for sure on both.

For the ministry in each region, it depends on region. our first was very long processing time (consistently over the years, when I compared to others). Second was shorter, again, consistent compared with others adoptiong in that region.

Are paperwork was in Kazakhstan a little over 1-month when we received word our LOI would be coming. We did not receive an update when it moved from one office to the next. We traveled Aug. 2006.

Hi Beckie,

We were told 3+ weeks at MFA, then 3+ weeks at MOE. The (+) of course is not very helpful! :-)

- Our dossier went to Kaz on Feb 7.
- We received THE CALL on April 23rd (2.5 months later)
- We recieved our LOI on May 22 (1 month after the call)
- We left the US on June 7 (2 weeks after the LOI)

All said and done, it was exactly 4 months from the day our dossier went to Kaz (already translated), to the day we left our home.

And now we've been home for 4 months with our beautiful baby girl!!
