Sunday Visits
As I udnerstand it, the orphanages don't allow you to visit on Sundays, right? So when you're doing the 14 day visitation the Sundays don't count? I hope I am wrong. Someone who's been there please advise...

We visited on Sundays, but some AGENCIES didn't allow their families to visit on a Sunday. It wasn't an orphanage rule...unless things have changed.
Might want to ask this on PVPK. |

I think its region specific, we did visit on Sundays but I know Almaty used to not allow it.

We were in Astana Aug & Sept 2006. The orphange did not allow anyone to visit, but it did count as one of the 14 days.
Every day we signed into the register book and on Monday we were signed in twice (once for Sunday and once for Monday). |

Hia - our son is from Almaty region and we were allowed to visit on Sundays. I think it is definitely agency specific as some other families from different agencies did not visit Saturday or Sundays, some did not visit only on Sunday.

I adopted from Semey. We visited everyday including Sunday. One day there was a health inspection and no visits were allowed during inspection. But it still counted toward our bonding days.

We did not visit in Sundays, unless Monday was a holiday, but Sundays did count to the 14 days of visitation.
One day my hsband was sick and did not go, but that also counted too.

No Sunday visit for us...
We were in Uralsk Oct-Nov of this past year and we were not allowed to visit on Sunday. We had the same in-country team as babypayne, but we were not allowed to go. Other agencies in our region did allow one visit on Sundays.
Sundays still counted toward our days - which was good, but Sundays were so hard for us - we missed our son so much! |
