The World Partners Adoption agency politely informed us via e-mail that Kazakhstan judges prefer not to allow large families to adopt their orphans. They are therefore suggested that we consider a Ukraine adoption. We think they were advising us the most secure method of adopting. We would not appreciate an agency allowing us to plan an adoption that might be rejected based on our family size. However, we have talked to other agencies who have stated that the judges statements were based on their concern about whether a family could adequately support another child. We are now wondering if Russian judges might also prefer smaller familes and parents adopting their first child. If anyone has information to share on this topic, please share it here. Thank You.
