Lifebooks
My husband and I are still in the beginning phase of adopting from Kaz--we've selected an agency, have completed our autobiography, and are pulling together references. By day I am a social worker and in my spare time (not much of that anymore) I enjoy putting photo albums together. My husband and I have started the process of planning out how we will build a lifebook for our child. There are some strong opinions out there about what a lifebook should and should not include and what its focus should be. Personally, I believe there is no wrong way to build a lifebook and that lifebooks are individual expressions of a child’s life story before adoption and how he or she became part of a “forever family”. To that end, I would like to invite anyone interested to a scrapbooking event I am hosting on October 16, 2004 in Parsippany, NJ. At that event, there will be a class on ways to build a lifebook. Please let me know if you are interested.
Blessings to all
