Anyone pursuing independent adoption in Kazakhstan?
My husband and I are considering adoption and am very interested in Kazakhstan for many reasons, including a desire to adopt a child under two years of age.
I have read that independent adoption is possible, but I have found very little information on this method. Does anyone have any information of independent adoption, or any reasons why I should opt for an agency as the best option? Thanks. |

It is possiable to adopt independently in Kazakhstan. My friends from Texas currently in the process of adopting independently. They were doing the dossier (paperwork) on their own and used an independent solcial worker for their home study from Texas. In Kazakhstan they hiered an independent interpreter and lawyer. She found info on: www.independentadoption.net

INDIPENDENT EXCESS COSTS
hi THERE,
It may be possible as indicated on the previous website to adopt independently but you have to spend 15K with the above agency which is the going rate for a full service agency in that is registered with KAZ. In addiiton, if you plan to go with a facilitator service, be wary, get a list of the most recent adoptions porviced and what about the failure rate. Get a list of them too. Of course an agency is less likely to list failures, so go to the BBB on line, they may have a listing. In addiiton , check out & search if anyone has posted a message egarding the agency/facilitator you choose. nina

independent- you doing all by yourself-
yes its possible, simple and low-cost under $10,000 ($3.500 for papers in US- remining $ would be spend on tickets, translate Dossier, hotel, travel and food), ONLY if you speak Russian or Kazakh language. (if you dont, you would end up to paying almost the same as you would pay t/h agency. people poor there and try to take advantage as much as possible from "rich americans") ____________________________________________ Quote:
