Yes, there is a new law stating that the child must have been in the orphanage for at least 3 (I've also read 4) months - so as to be sure of abandonment/relinquishment of child. Also, the govt requires a 2 week stay to bond with your child, and to interview with the local govt to make sure of where the child is going, etc. Then, you have to go to Moscow to the US Embassy for your child's US Visa, this also takes a few days... Hope this info helps.

Aurora one of the registered agencies in Kazakhstan..
