Conversion Ceremony Question

My Rabbi contacted me today about the conversion ceremony. We have the Mikvah reserved at a nearby Shul, but he has never officiated a ceremony before, and in fact informed me that he has never been to one!

If any of you have been through this and could offer any advice, or let me know how this is done - ex. who is responsible for gathering the Bet Din or is there a group of Rabbi's associated with the Mikvah that will be there?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

We didn't go through a Mikvah -- used our pond instead, but the Rabbi was the one responsible for gathering the Bet Din. You could call the Mikvah just to be sure.

Thank you very much for the info - I will call the "Mikvah Lady" as the Rabbi refers to her!

You or your rabbi will have to assemble the Bet Din. I am really surprised that your rabbi has never been to a conversion.

We are reform and our Rabbi is a full time professor at a local university, so most of his experience is in the classroom.

I appreciate the info.

Thanks everyone and have an easy fast!
