Narrations, the newsletter by and for children who have been touched by adoption is getting ready for its second issue coming out this summer. If you have a child, or know of a child, between the ages of 8 and 13 who would like to contribute a story, cultural recipe or craft, drawing, puzzle, etc. please email me. We are accepting submissions from adoptees, their siblings, extended family and friends. They are free to write about whatever they want as long as it someway relates to adoption. Serious topics, fun topics, big issues and small - all are welcome. Our mission is to encourage children to express their issues surrounding adoption through writing and art. We adopted our son when he was 7 years old. He just became a Bar Mitzvah (13 Y/O). Yaakov has writen a number of articals that have appeared in both the Washington Jewish Weekly and the Jewish Herald Voice. He is an avid writer about special needs adoption and becoming Jewish at the age of 7. If you are interested in reviewing some of his writings or having him write something new please contact me. He also speaks before groups about adopting older children. He is quite the advocate for adoption. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi I am going through an adoption right now we will be taking atleast one but possible a sibling set. I already have two biological sons ages 6 and 4. My oldest loves to draw and write letters to his soon to be sibs. I can ask him if he would be interested in writting and submitting something to you about how he feels and what this adoption means to him. He has been so adorable with how loving and compassionate he is. My youngest although he can not write he is very verbal about his feelings, When our Social worker came he ask if he was the baby man and where was his baby. He also drew a picture of 5-6 eggs and said one was the daddy egg, the mommy egg, big brother egg, little brother egg, and baby egg. It was so cute. If you want me to submit anything let me know.
