Smile help with contacting birthmother

I thought I would let you all know where we are at in our search...
CATHOLIC CHARTIES HAS FOUND MY HUSBANDS BIRTHMOTHER!!!
The birthmother has decided she will have contact with us at first through Catholic Charties. However we have to make the first contact through a letter and I'm not sure what I should ask her or what I should tell her.. I feel good that she has finally changed her mind.. BUT now I am at a loss for how I should proceed. Any help you can give me would be great. We want to make contact just not sure how to approach it. Kelcy:

No specifics...

Hi,

Congratulations!! I'm sure it's a huge relief to finally find her but stressful when it comes to figuring out what to say.
Of course this is only my opinion but these delicate situations call for a delicate approach. I don't think I'd dive in asking all about her or your husband's health history just yet. Get the ball rolling with a light hearted note introducing yourselves and saying how wonderful it will be to get to meet her.

Hope everything works out well for you both!! You're opening a new chapter, how exciting!!
Anne
