I found my son at age 23 by a miracle. He wasadopted into mexico. I don't understand how anyone could allow a white american child to be adopted to a mexican family in mexico. My son is 6'4", blonde hair and blue eye's. He is totally screwed up and he needs serious psylogical help. He is a lier, a thief and a con artist. He needs help. I love him but do not communicate with him at this time.

I'm sorry to hear that your son is troubled. You said that he is "screwed up", but I'm not sure that his adoption (in anyone's case) is the sole contributing factor to having psychological problems. Do you know anything about his adoptive family or his circumstances growing up? Were there other events in his life that caused problems for him?

I know that sometimes the American perception of Mexican families is that they are of low socioeconomic status and not as educated as Americans, but that is more of a strerotype than a fact. Also, transracial adoption is not that rare. Many American couples, and couples from other countries, adopt transracially. In fact, my husband and I are Caucasian, and have a Latino child.

I hope that you son find the help he needs.
