Feeling sad, and worried. Got our 1st referral on 11/11/04. Had two IA doctors give the child the ok. Accepted the referral on 11/13/04 and got a travel date of 11/27/04. Purchased tickets got Visas and wired funds to western trained doctor to come to Kursk on 11/30/04 to examine the child.

11/23/04 still no travel itinerary from our adoption agency and not getting clear answers from our caseworker. Call manager to request help. Got itinerary today 11/24/04. However, I also received an email from our western trained doctor informing us he was sorry to here that our trip had been cancelled because of MOE problems. Our doctor had called to Kursk to confirm his visit was approved and was informed by our Kursk adoption agency rep that our adoption was on hold.

Called manager at our agency and was told that this would not effect us, however, it was true for families scheduled with next week travel dates. ½ hour later manager calls us back to confirm that our 1st trip has been postponed for a unknown period of time.

I felt concerned before when we could not get a travel itinerary, but now I am truly panicked! I have to wonder if it has to do with the problems we have been having with our caseworker. My husband feels that this could never be the case. However, to me it seems odd that it just happened that way.

I would appreciate it if you were scheduled to travel to Kursk or are traveling to Kursk if you could give me any information regarding this matter. I just want answers.

Sorry if I’m rambling, but it is 2:50 am and I can’t sleep. Just needed to get it out!

We traveled to Kursk to see our son on Oct. 23rd. We have not been back since. We want to compare our stories with other families pertaing to Kursk.
