Grants?
We are looking into applying for grants, but I was wondering if we were allowed to apply for multiple grants in case most denied us. Is it ok to apply for multiple grants in the hopes of getting 1 grant to help us with the adoption? We want to adopt a special needs child if this helps any.
Thanks in advance! |

Each funding source will have its own rules regarding what you can apply for or accept.
The bad news is that there are very few grants out there. The economy has reduced donations, meaning that the donated money is not available for grants. Your best source of assistance may turn out to be your adoption agency, if you are adopting a child with special needs. Many agencies discount their portion of the fees to make sure that school aged children and those with physical or mental challenges find homes. And in some cases, the agencies even find funders who will pay for other components of the fees. Sharon

Another problem I have run into is that a lot of grant programs charge a fee for the application (many were $40 or more). So if you want to apply for a lot to better your odds of getting one, it can end up costing quite a bit. Might be better to save those fees and find another way.
