Received appt for fingerprinting

We received the letter for our fingerprinting appointment, which is scheduled for October 27th. Anyone from Illinois have any feedback about time from fingerprinting to approval? Just curious! :-)

Has your home study also been submitted to USCIS?

We received our 171H back in May and it took about 3 1/2 weeks from the time they had our home study. Our fingerprints were done prior to the home study arriving, but it's my understanding that the fingerprint match happens very, very quickly.

This is good to know. We are still waiting for DCHS to approve our home study, but it's been there for about a month now, so it should be sent to USCIS soon, hopefully by the time our fingerprinting appointment happens. Thank you so much for your response. . .I've been wondering what the Illinois timeline has been like for folks. I noticed your Dossier arrived in Ethiopia on 6/4/09. . .have you completed your Ethiopian adoption yet?

No, we're still waiting on our referral. Unless timelines start to change drastically, we should have our referral in the next 1-3 months and hope to bring baby home sometime in the spring.

Are you updating your I-600A for the free extension? I updated mine earlier this summer and it took about a month and a half. I had started to fill out all the paperwork for teh I800 - but then found out I'm grandfathered in.

We don't anticipate needing to do the 171H update, but will probably have to request updates on our fingerprints. They expire in March.
