misdeamoner-can they still adopt?
Hey Everyone
Our Neighbors are considiring adopting from Ethiopia and the husband who is in late forties was charged with "disturbing the peace" (playing the stereo loud) misdeamoner charge 20 years ago (he was 27)he has not been in any trouble since-can he still adopt internationally? has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks to Everyone!!!!! |

They should be fine. When we met with our social worker for the homestudy interview she said that they understand that everyone was once "young and stupid", and made mistakes, and they aren't going to keep a child from going to a good family for something small that happened a long time ago. She did say though that it's very important that you tell your social worker everything up front, so there aren't any suprises during the background check that could make the officials in the other country think that you were trying to hide something.
