Talking Hosting an exchange student to learn/share adopted child's birth culture

I work with an agency placing exchange students from a variety of countries. I've also adopted one teenage girl and am presently working on adopting her younger sister.

The reason I am writing this post is that my manager adopted both of her children from Russia and hosts exchange students so that her children do not loose touch with their cultural heritage. I thought I would check to see if anyone was interested in finding out about hosting.

I, myself, have hosted a girl from Germany, a boy from Norway, a girl from Kazakhstan (she returns to her country next month), and have supervised students from Brazil and Columbia as well. My children and I have learned so much about our students' cultures and customs which has also helped my children appreciate our own customs and cultures.

If you might be interested or would like to know more, please let me know. Even if I am not in your area, I can still answer questions, help with finding a student, put you in contact with a representative in your area or anything else you might need.

Best wishes,

Donna
