Is It Possible for Homosexuals To Adopt

I'm a single lesbian considering adopting internationally. I considered domestic adoption for a while but I realized my heart desires a male child between the ages of 12-36 months which is a rarity in domestic infant adoption. As I was researching international adoption I found that some countries are not allowing homosexuals to adopt at all and I was wondering would I have to lie in order to adopt. I posted this question in the Ethiopia adoption boards because I'm black and I would like a son that looks like me but I didn't get many responses and ethnicity is now starting to become irrelevant. I don't mind following a "don't ask, don't tell" policy but I refuse to lie in my home study or swear in court that I'm heterosexual when I know that not true.

I am actually a reunited B-mom so I don't know a thing about IA and very little about domestic adoption from an A-parent's stand point. What I do know is that my best friend and her partner recently adopted a beautiful baby girl so yes, its possible. Best wishes Tracy

ps>>>just called my friend and she says no one in any court ever asked her whether she was gay or not but the home-study did ask if she was married or single and who lived in her home. (her partner does). She told everyone the truth as she knew the people who gave referrals would. (We gave one; my d/h is her assoc.pastor). SHE had to adopt as a single person and is the only person listed on the child's b.c. Tracy

Did she adopt domestically or internationally? If internationally, which country?
