Question Madonna adoption

I wasn't sure where to post this. I found it interesting how some are upset by the fact that she gets to go around some laws due to her celebrety status (according to the article) .... What do you all think? Do you think celebs get it easier as far as IA's go??

I am positive that celebrities can adopt more quickly and with much less hassle because they can pay their way through the process, you know?

I sometimes take offense to the media turning adoption into a "trendy" thing to do. I mean, really...these are children, not handbags. Children are not "trendy." Ugh, it makes me sick.

I think there was a bigger issue with Madonna adopting her son David from Malawai, wasn't there? Something about the bio-father not relinquishing his parental rights or wanting his son back or something to that effect, which some people claimed Madonna and her camp ignored.

I don't think it's as much about celebrity as it is about wealth.

I agree that it is easier more because of wealth than celebrity. If I could pay someone to do all this stinking paper chasing, had lawyers already in my hip pocket, and could write a check for tens of thousands of dollars on a moment's notice...international adoption would be considerably easier

I think we hear about them b/c they are celebrities and we hear about everything they do, whether it is adopting babies or buying toilet paper.
