Uzbekistan anyone?
We heard that Uzbekistan is a new program that has a very short in-coiuntry stay and healthy children. Anyone have any info or experiences with Uzbekistan?

Do both parents need to be American citizens?
Yes, I've been to the state department page, I always start there for any country....it's such a good resource, but I was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences with this relatively new country....
we are particularly interested in finding a country that does not require both parents to be american citizens

Most countries do not require both parents to be U.S. citizens, although some agencies might. The only country where I've seen denials of families on this basis is Kazakhstan. Have you seen others?

Hi,
We're in process of adopting from Uzbekistan. We started the process back in Jan-07. Our dossier was just forward to Uzbekistan last. I know of one other family that is also in process of adopted from Uzbekistan. I think they are awaiting travel dates. I don't know if I can help much due to we are so new to this program.
