Question Nepal Adoptions?

Has anyone out there adopted from Nepal? If so, how did you find it? Thanks.

Adoption from Nepal

Greetings;

My husband and I are currently in the middle of adopting from Nepal. We have been to Kathmandu once to accept our referral for our son and start the paperwork in Nepal. We are currently waiting for Nepal's Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Welfare to approve our adoption so we can go back over there and bring him home.

I may not have all the answers, but am certainly willing to let you know what we have run into and such. Tammy

Failed Nepal Adoption

We tried to adopt from Nepal and waited one and a half years (from late 2003 to early 2005) for a referral before switching countries. We fell in love with the culture but found that the adoption ministry in Nepal is rather mysterious and unpredictable, and we were in danger of "aging out" of eligibility for an infant if we kept waiting. EDITED TO REMOVE AGENCY DISCUSSION

Nepal

I am in the process of adopting from Nepal. The two couples ahead of me at my agency got their referrals about a week ago. It is doable if you work with a good agency.
