Actually, according to the U.S. State Department website, the Dominican Republic has been closed to singles since at least last March, when the website was last updated.

If you go to the website of the Joint Council on International Children's Services, you will see the names of approximately four licensed, nonprofit agencies that place children from Ecuador, or at least that were placing children from Ecuador recently. If you contact these agencies, you can find out about the requirements and whether you qualify.
