Heart My first day of research...Looking for a helper

Hello! I am new to the forum, and I have so many questions. My husband and I have decided to start looking into the adoption process. We have always known we wanted to, and the time is right now. We have no children yet, and are so excited about becoming parents.
We are pretty set on International adoption, and the more I read, I seem to be drawn to Ethiopia. We originally thought China, but we do not meet the age requirement.
I am also under the impression that we need to find a good, trustworthy agency. Does anyone recommend one?
I know we have a long way to go, and I would like to start the process as soon as possible. What should our first steps be?
Any advice you can give, I would really appreciate it. We are very excited about meeting people to connect with to help get through the process.
Thanks so much...

Hi, and welcome to the world of international adoption. There's a lot to learn, and you've come to the right place to start. There are many threads here with loads of info, so read back through topics that sound interesting. Go to the blogs, too. Mine (link in the sig) is international in general with some country-specific stuff. There are also blogs for Ethiopia, Guatemala, China, Kaz, Russia, Ukraine. There's one on transracial adoption (the blogger for that one is in Ethiopia right now picking up her daughter), and many other issues. From the blogs, you'll be able to follow links to more info.
You'll meet some really good people here, and most are happy to help as they can.
Good luck.
