The US has suspended adoptions from Cambodia. This has been in force since Dec. 2001. The UK stopped their residents from adopting Cambodian kids last year. There are a number of countries, however, that do allow Cam adoptions, so it all depends on where you are.

Cambodia is closed to American families at this time. Neither the Cambodian government nor the American government will let you complete an adoption there. At this time, there are no plans for reopening adoptions any time soon.

Citizens of certain other countries ARE permitted to adopt from Cambodia at this time. If you are not an American citizen and do not live in the U.S., check with your governmentto see whether Cambodia is open to you.
