International Adoption Doctor in Germany??
Hi all... DH and I are stationed in Germany with the military. Any idea if there are any, or how we could find an international adoption doctor located here? I have done some web searches without any luck. Our patient liaison is on vacation for a few weeks... and I don't know where else to look.... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Maybe some of you military folks can help us out!
Thanks in advance, Mandie |

Just wondering, I don't have any good answers for you, but was curious, can you use an IA doc from the US and just transmit the information to them electronically, then have a phone call for their results? I am thinking down this track because, depending on the country you are going to, there is a chance of blind travel, which would make any doc work right?
Thought I would throw that out! Hope you find someone that will work for you!

Hi, Thanks for the reply... using an IA doctor in the US, will be fine for looking over the referral, but we are really hoping to find a Dr. here in Germany, to evaluate our daughter when she arrives. We are adopting from Ethiopia, and I would like to have someone who is familiar with IA, and knows what tests to run, etc.... The military clinic where we are located is okay.... but I don't trust them to look for everything.... Thank you for your help... Mandie

Hi! We lived in Spain for 3 years with the Navy! Isn't it great? Don't you LOOOOOOOOOVE Tricare?? At the time, I thought it was awful, and my hubby worked at the hospital!! It is actually funny to look back. Now we actually have to PAY for doctor's visits and prescriptions!! That was the good thing about the military!
As there are many many bases in Germany, I would guess that there is more than one adoption support group. I would also think that you could find out about it through the chaplain's office. Those people, especially the ones who have been in Germany for a while, will know all sorts of good stuff you could use. Best of luck to you! Have fun at the NEX, (or BX or PX or whatever is on your base) I miss the cheap Ralph Lauren and Clinique!! Dawn |
