Photolistings are illegal for some countries, for instance, Ukraine.
I am not sure if this website's policies allow us to recommend websites, so I will leave that question to someone else to answer. |

.... by the way, even when photolistings are not illegal, they are not uncontroversial. Also, for some countries, when one gets a referral, one gets a small and sometimes old picture of the child. The way of thinking here is: you should not pick a child based on a photograph and how cute the child is, but on other info. (medical, and background). The looks are or should be secondary.

I also was looking at using a photolisting, to adopt an older child from Guatemala. They are legal for Guatemala. However in checking out the agencies representing the children I was interested in, I found they were a mixed bag. I'm sure some are very good, but do your research carefully. I talked to my social worker, who has years of experience in adoption, and she recommended talking to reputable agencies to see if they had a child in the right age range for us, rather than identifying possible children first (via photolisting) and then checking out the associated agencies. That's what I'm planning to do now.
Good luck! |

Agree with the previous poster! Agency makes all the difference. The only problem is determining who is reputable. Doing lots of research is a good idea. I think the downside of the photolistings is also that you may be "picking" a child for the wrong reasons, just based on looks.

It's illegal for Russian children to be photolisted and the agencies that do - well, sometimes it's a bait and switch...
