from Guatemala or any other latino countries??????? If so, what are your concerns/ thoughts and how you're going to deal with them?????? Like exposing to it's native culture, etc... even though it may look like you in appearance?????

I have not, but I have a friend who did. She is very sensitive to this topic. Her DH does not want to expose the baby to Guat culture and she does to an extent. I asked the reason and was told it was because their Asian culture (I am not sure what country) does not accept adopted children very well. She said they were viewed as a lower class, so their extend family does not know that the baby is adopted. My friend stayed out of sight for a year and then they picked up the baby, and as far as extended relatives are concerned they believe the baby is bio. They do not tell them one way or the other. They just assume. Now their immediate families do know. The grandpartents and direct Aunts and Uncles know. they are very accepting but second cousin twice removed people would not be.


I am not sure if this is common?
