Anyone else having this trouble?
My husband and I, think, we would like to adopt our fourth child (our first 3 are bio). However, somedays, we think.....no, we are crazy! And then other days, we can't stop talking about it.
Anyone else experience this? It is driving us crazy. We usually are not so indecisive. Help! |

Yes! We have been doing that for over a year now. Just when I think I'm ok with not adopting something happens and I start thinking about it again. I've basically decided there is something in me that won't let it go. DH is ok with it one way or the other. I think, for us, it's just a matter of time.
Oh, and we also have 3 bio kids. So, I have it in my mind that if we adopt we will have to adopt 2. Not neccessarily at the same time. But that would be 5 kids. So, I definitely think we are insane! lol Angela |

Anyone else experience this? It is driving us crazy. We usually are not so indecisive. Help![ I feel exactly the same way, and then some! Our situation is even worse in some ways than yours. We are both 56, have four grown bio kids, a teenage foster daughter and three cute little granddaughters ages 1, 2 and 3. We are crazy about them and want one just like them and have been considering an international adoption for some time. But then when I read about all the problems involved in the adoption process I think we must be nuts. Actually my dh doesnt seem to have the same doubts as I do! My biggest fear is how to break the news to our two oldest married sons. They will probably have sibling rivalry once removed, thinking that if we adopt a little girl around the same age as their kids, there will be jealousy. Plus they will think that at our age we have really lost it for sure. But then when I read the encouraging stories of people who have adopted in similar circumstances, I think maybe we can do this after all. The dream of a little girl in a faraway orphanage waiting for us just wont go away... Best wishes, Marni |

Thank goodness we are not the only ones!!!
I can go for days and not think about it, but other times it is like an ocean wave that hits me and I am overwhelmed by this desire to adopt. Do you think it is God knocking me down, trying to get my attention??? LOL I really struggle between...is it my fantasy or something we should actually do?? And how do I figure out which??!!! My kids would love to adopt! Our parents would definately think we were crazy. |

I wonder, too, if it's God telling me something. This last time it hit me it was while listening to Stephen Curtis Chapman's song "All I Want for Christmas is a Family." It came on the radio when I was on my way home from somewhere and I had to sit in the drive and just listen. It seems like something that just won't let go of me. So, I'm taking that to mean it's something that we are meant to do. My kids, too, think it would be a great thing.
I guess I feel like it's God telling me to do it when it keeps coming back to me. My advice would be pray, pray, and pray some more! Angela |
