My husband and I are currently in process of adopting from Ethiopia. We have completed paperwork with our agency and are waiting for a referral but have been told it could take some time. Does any family have stories or information to share about Ethiopian adoptions? Thanks

Do you mind if I ask how long they said to referral? Our paperwork is almost done, and the timeframe we've been given is very very short, especially in comparison to other international programs.

Jclay, are you requesting an infant girl? Apparently the longest waits are for young girls, but I agree with Meimae that we don't expect to wait long for a referral once our dossier is one.

They have told us they are not sure of wait time for referral. We are infact wanting to adopt a girl though our age range is open to four years of age, due to the wait. Are others experiencing this??

Great Photographs, thanks so much for sharing. How long were you guys in Ethiopia. I am new at this, are we aloud to ask what agency people are using, if so which? If not, please ignore the question.

I would also like to know what agency you are using. I have been drawn mostly to Wide Horizens or Childrens Home. I would love any feedback. We are homestudy ready (for domestic) and are just doing the necessary work to make it an internation study.

Are twins or young sibling groups common in Ethiopia? We would love siblings, but our son will just be 2 and we don't want to upset the birth order.
