Adoption Financing/Grants/Loans/etc. Any Info?
Anyone gotten any financial help with their adoption? DH and I don't make all that much money but Guatemala is calling us. We will figure out some way to make it work but I assume there might be money available if we knew where to look for it. Any ideas?

There are some grants available but usually for special needs. Remember you have the $10,000 tax credit that you can apply for after finalization. We were able to get a low intrest loan through a credit union using a paid off vehicle as collateral. The vehicle wasn't even worth as much as we borrowed but they were OK with that. Others have done creative fundraing. A yard sale with items donated from family and friends. Sending letters to evryone you know seeking donations,car washes, Fundraising dinners etc. We also asked our families to donate money to us in lew of gifts for more than a year.

Do a google search for adoption grants or international adoption grants. Lots of interesting sites come up. There are so many resources out there!
