Question Advice please...

I posted this on the Guat board too, hoping to get some advice.

I just found out that our agency coordinator is taking a leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time. Obviously I don't know why, it is none of my business, but I am kinda concerned. I am afraid that if there is one less person working in the "Guatemala department", that things might get hung up along the way.I sent our dossier Monday to have it reveiwed before having is state certified so we're almost ready for our referral. I have had some reservations about the agency in the past, but now I don't know if I should pull out and change agencies before we receive/accept our referral, or just hang in there and hope that things go well.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that the hard part is over and that you should just stick with your current agency. Get that dossier in so that you can be logged in. I would express your concerns to your agency and get the name of a new contact person so that you can stay on top of things. Remember that there are many twists and bumps on our road to being parents but one must keep the faith that everything happens for a reason. Good Luck!

New Rep

Have they assigned you someone new? If not, ask right away who is your primary contact. We all need to remember that we are paying these agencies to be our advocates. If you are uncomfortable you have every right to vocalize your concerns. Be strong!
