DOB verses FBI Background Check
Does anyone know the difference between the Department of Justice background check and the FBI background check? I am in the process of starting a homestudy and we need to get fingerprinted twice. Does anyone know the reason for that?
Do they use the same database information? Thanks, Janice |

The FBI check will have access to all of your history, even if its been expunged/dismissed...if you've EVER been arrested...its wise to disclose this information upfront and have it included in your homestudy, so that it doesn't cause problems when it comes time for your I600.
Failure to disclose information can lead to a denial of your I600, and if that happens, you have to wait a year to apply again. You can't adopt internationally without the I600.
